We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who We Are
ClaimMyTrip.com is a document-preparation service that prepares eligibility summaries and airline claim letters for passengers who believe they may be entitled to compensation under UK and EU passenger rights regulations (UK261 / EU261). We are not a law firm and do not provide legal advice.

2. Personal Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Information you provide directly
- Contact details: First name, last name, email address
- Flight information: Departure airport, arrival airport, airline, scheduled departure date, disruption type and details
- Booking reference: If provided (optional)
- Disruption reason: As selected or described in the claim form
- Number of passengers: For pricing and claim preparation
Information collected automatically
- Payment session data: Stripe Checkout session reference (we do not store full card details — these are handled entirely by Stripe)
- Submission identifiers: A unique reference generated for each claim submission (e.g., CMT-W-XXXXXXXX)
- Language preference: Browser-detected or user-selected language code
- Technical log data: IP address, browser type, and request metadata collected by Cloudflare (our hosting provider) as part of normal web server operation
We do not collect: bank account details, passport or identity documents, payment card numbers (handled exclusively by Stripe), or special-category personal data.

4. How Long We Keep Your Data
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above:
- Claim submission data (name, email, flight details, submission reference): retained for 2 years from the date of submission, then deleted.
- Payment records: Stripe retains payment records in accordance with their own data retention policy and applicable financial regulations. We retain the Stripe session reference only.
- Support correspondence: retained for 2 years from the date of last contact.
- Technical log data: retained by Cloudflare for up to 30 days in standard log form.
We may retain data for longer if required by law or for the resolution of legal claims.
5. Who We Share Your Data With
We share data only with trusted service providers who process it on our behalf and are bound by appropriate data processing agreements:
- Cloudflare, Inc. — Hosting and content delivery network (CDN). Cloudflare may process technical request data as part of DNS, CDN, and security services. Cloudflare is certified under EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Make.com (Celonis SE) — Automation platform used to process claim submissions and route data. Based in the EU.
- Stripe, Inc. — Payment processing. Stripe processes payment transactions and is certified under EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Card details are never shared with or stored by ClaimMyTrip.
- Google LLC (Google Sheets) — Secure storage of claim submission records. Google is certified under EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
- Email service provider — Used to send claim pack delivery emails and support responses. [Provider to be confirmed before launch.]
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes.
6. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers are based or process data outside the UK. Where data is transferred to countries not deemed to have an adequate level of data protection, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms approved by the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data:
- Right of access — You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — You may ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

8. Cookies and Local Storage
ClaimMyTrip.com uses browser localStorage (not cookies) to remember your language preference across page loads. This data is stored locally in your browser only and is not transmitted to our servers.
Stripe may set cookies as part of the payment checkout process. Please refer to Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.
We do not currently use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. If this changes, this policy will be updated and a cookie consent mechanism will be introduced before any such cookies are placed.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. For significant changes, we will notify active users by email where possible.
Continued use of our service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
